Meet our anxiety therapists
What to expect from the therapy process
Step 1. Complimentary intro call
Begin by completing our inquiry form and scheduling a brief, complimentary introductory call. This is a chance to share what brings you in, ask questions about our approach, and make sure the clinician and format feel like the right fit before moving forward.
Step 2. Intake & treatment planning
Your first few sessions focus on understanding your history, current concerns, and goals. Your therapist gathers a thorough clinical picture and collaborates with you on a treatment plan, including whether weekly therapy or an EMDR intensive will best support your process.
Step 3. Ongoing sessions & integration
From there, you move into the core work, whether that’s through weekly 90-minute sessions or through a customized EMDR intensive. Whichever path you choose, the focus is on sustainable, integrated change to help you build insight and shift your felt experience.
What sets our practice apart from other Fort Lauderdale anxiety counseling providers
Somatic and neuro-affective integration
We understand that anxiety lives in the body as much as in the mind. Our approach addresses the physiological roots of anxiety alongside the psychological ones to support lasting change.
Extended 90-minute sessions
Weekly sessions are a minimum of 90 minutes, giving clients the time they need to settle, process, and integrate without being rushed by the clock.
Collaborative team model
Our clinicians work closely together, coordinating treatment to ensure each client receives cohesive care that reflects their full history and goals.
Specialized EMDR expertise across the team
Every clinician at Lōmii is either EMDR-certified or actively working toward certification, allowing us to go beyond surface-level fixes.
Both intensive and ongoing care options
Clients can access multi-day EMDR intensives for accelerated, depth-oriented work, or steady weekly therapy in-house. We’re here for you either way.
A boutique, private environment
Lōmii is intentionally curated. Clients receive thoughtful, personalized care in a calm, refined space designed to feel grounding from the moment they arrive.
How therapy can help nurses
Process vicarious trauma
Deaths that got charted and never processed. Being asked to deliver care you knew was not enough because of staffing. Reporting something and watching nothing change. We work with moral injury and institutional betrayal as real clinical territory, not as a personal failure to be more resilient.
Shift deep-seated patterns
You may already know where a pattern came from and still feel it in your body when a family member escalates or a charge nurse questions your judgment. Comprehensive EMDR works with the memory, the feeling, the sensation, and the belief together, which is often what talking about it has not been able to reach.
Holistic support
Emmy Slaibe, OTR/L, our on-staff occupational therapist, offers occupational therapy across our practice, standalone or alongside your therapy. The occupational therapy lens looks at how trauma, anxiety, and depression are affecting sleep, recovery between shifts, sensory load, and daily routines. Psychotherapy and occupational therapy working together is what makes our whole-person care more than a phrase.
FAQs about anxiety therapy
-
Stress typically eases when the specific stressor resolves, while anxiety often doesn't. If you're finding that worry, physical tension, avoidance, or a sense of dread persists across different situations—or feels disproportionate to what's actually happening—that may be worth exploring in therapy. You don’t need a formal diagnosis to begin.
-
Our team works with a wide range of anxiety presentations, including:
Generalized anxiety and chronic worry
Social anxiety and fear of judgment
Perfectionism and performance anxiety
Anxiety rooted in trauma, attachment disruptions, or emotional neglect
Burnout-related anxiety in high-performing or high-responsibility roles
Anxiety that presents somatically through tension, hypervigilance, or nervous system dysregulation
Anxiety connected to life transitions, grief, or identity shifts
If your anxiety doesn't fit neatly into a category, that's something we're familiar with too. Many clients come to us having tried other approaches without lasting change. We'll take the time to understand your particular experience and customize your treatment accordingly.

There's not just one best approach. Each person’s experience is unique, so a blend of methods is often most beneficial. In our clinical experience, we’ve also found that trauma-focused modalities that go deeper than talk therapy alone can be most effective in producing long-standing relief, so we focus on methods like EMDR, somatic therapy, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy.
-
We treat anxiety as a whole-system experience: one that involves the body, nervous system, and relational history, not just patterns of thought. Rather than applying a standardized protocol, our clinicians take time to understand what's sustaining your anxiety at a deeper level, and tailor treatment accordingly. The result is care that addresses root causes rather than surface symptoms.

Yes, anxiety counseling is often covered by insurance, though there are limitations. Lōmii Studio is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. Private-pay care also allows us to offer extended sessions, flexible pacing, and a level of personalization that is rarely possible within insurance-based models. With that said, we can support you with potential out-of-network reimbursement if you are interested.
