FAQs about ADHD treatment
-
ADHD manifests as a constellation of symptoms beyond just attention difficulties. You might also notice:
Persistent challenges with time management,
Frequent overwhelm from sensory input,
Difficulty regulating emotional responses, and/or
A tendency to hyperfocus on certain activities while struggling with others.
While these experiences might point to ADHD, many conditions share overlapping symptoms. Professional assessment helps distinguish ADHD from anxiety, depression, trauma responses, or other neurological conditions. Many adults discover their ADHD later in life after years of developing complex coping mechanisms.

Our practice uses EMDR intensives specifically designed for neurodivergent brains.
Unlike traditional approaches that focus mainly on behavioral strategies, our intensive format addresses the deeper emotional patterns and past experiences that amplify ADHD symptoms.
This immersive therapeutic experience allows us to process multiple connected issues in a condensed timeframe, creating momentum that can be particularly helpful for ADHD minds.
By working in extended sessions rather than brief weekly meetings, we can achieve breakthrough insights without the frustration of constantly starting over.
-
No, a formal ADHD diagnosis is not required to benefit from our treatment program.
Many clients come to us with self-identified ADHD symptoms without an official diagnosis. Our approach focuses on addressing your specific challenges, regardless of diagnostic labels.
During our initial consultation, we'll discuss your symptoms and experiences to determine if our EMDR intensive approach would be beneficial for your situation, whether you have a formal diagnosis or not.

Our EMDR intensives provide a focused, immersive therapeutic experience that compresses months of traditional therapy into just a few days. You'll work one-on-one with Jessica in our private, comfortable Fort Lauderdale office for 3-6 hours per session (with built-in breaks).
The process begins with preparation and resourcing, followed by targeted EMDR to address ADHD-related challenges, emotional patterns, and past experiences that contribute to your symptoms. Each day builds on the previous one, creating momentum for lasting change.
